Greatest breaks in Hip Hop pt 1

Here is perhaps the greatest break in Hip Hop history, Apache by Michael Viner's Incredible Bongo Band (who weren't even a proper band).

It all started with this, a song by Bert Weedon (written by Jerry Lordan).

Before The Shadow's decided to cover it in 1960. The song was a hit in the UK for Cliff Richards backing band, it was then covered by Jørgen Ingmann and it hit big in the U.S.

Michael Viner worked for a Record Company and had access to dead studio time (i.e. when no one was recording) and decided to invite some friends (Ringo Starr possibly???) to knock out a few tunes, thus this was born and Hip Hop had a national anthem.

Of course not every version is that great, although this has a camp, cheesy quality to it.
